Apple’s next iPhones are coming with huge camera upgrades

iPhone: Although Apple’s iPhone 12S Pro line is expected to arrive later this year with an enhanced ultrawide camera, a new rumor from famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the capability would be included in all of next year’s iPhones.

Kuo claims the iPhone 12S Pro and 12S Pro will come with an autofocus-capable ultrawide lens, confirming a report by Trendforce analysts last week. Fixed-focus ultrawide cameras are currently available on iPhone 12 Pro versions. This adjustment will give iPhone photographers more options and allow them to frame their shots more like they would with traditional wide and telephoto lenses. Kuo also confirmed that the new ultrawide camera would have a six-element lens, making it comparable to the regular wide camera.

If you want to try out these changes, you won’t have to pay the Pro premium for long. According to Kuo, Apple is presently working on bringing features to all 2022 iPhone models, whether Pro or not. Due to some cultural superstition surrounding the number 13, it’s thought that this year’s iPhone line will be dubbed the iPhone 12S. If this is the case, it’s unlikely that Apple will use the iPhone 13 brand in 2022, preferring instead to use the iPhone 14 moniker. With the iPhone 8 to iPhone X changeover, Apple has already employed this strategy.

When are the new iPhone models going to be released? It’ll most likely come in September or October, according to a Digitimes story, and Apple has already begun ramping up component orders for its 2021 iPhones. While this would not generally be noteworthy because the firm does the same around June and July each year in preparation for its late summer launches, the company’s iPhones were delayed last year because to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. As a result, the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max were released in stages, with the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max arriving last. Apple is more likely to get its components this year in time for a September launch now that the ramp-up is taking place in June.
