1, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is the flagship school of the University of Illinois system, having been founded in 1867. It is a public land-grant university that is known as a “Public Ivy,” meaning it offers Ivy League-level education for a low (and in some cases, no) cost.

The university’s 15 academic departments provide 150 undergraduate and 100 graduate programs. Agriculture, Fine & Applied Arts, Engineering, Medicine, Information Science, Health Science, Law, Education, Liberal Arts & Science, Business, Media, Social Work, Aviation, Labor & Employment Relations, Veterinary Medicine, and Medicine are among the schools represented.

In-state students and enrollees from households with an income of $67,100 or less are eligible for free tuition for four years as part of the Illinois pledge. The caveat here is the university’s stringent admissions procedure, which frequently requires a high GPA and SAT/ACT score, particularly in the College of Engineering.

Clark University is a Worcester, Massachusetts-based private research university. It was founded in 1887 courtesy to a bequest from merchant Jonas Gilman Clark. It began as a graduate school before accepting undergraduate students in 1902.

Clark Institution, an undergraduate liberal arts college with 32 departments, is overseen by the university, which is located in the Main South neighborhood. There is also a Graduate School of Management, a Graduate School of Geography, a School of Professional Studies, a School of Psychology, and a School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the university.

Residents of the Virgin Islands, regardless of age, family income, or graduation date, are eligible for free tuition at UVI. The student must maintain a 2.50 GPA in order to remain eligible. He or she should then work in the island chain for a set period of time after graduation.
